It's What You Make Of It....

Friday, May 29, 2009

Well, that was the name of the design brief for my latest project anyhow. I had to design a t-shirt in the style of Huffer/MoneyShot etc. representing this statement and all had to be done in Illustrator (something that I am really, really slowly starting to like...)

Being the crafty person that I am, I wanted to reflect something handmade. It was hard as we could only use ONE colour!! Plenty of fun though, and I'm liking my final product.

A Day of Sun and Crafting...

Sunday, May 24, 2009

It's just such a nice day at our place, I had to share this photo. This is my sunny, sunny view that I have today while making lovely things for Kraftbomb next weekend.

Although, I have had a small person beg and plead with me for the last half hour to take them to the park, so will be taking a well deserved break.

Still so much to do though.....

Latest Design...

Friday, May 15, 2009

So this is the latest creation of mine for Uni, was a bit more interesting than the last few I have posted! I made it to the MDS blog as the pick of our class who had the strongest design. I was pretty damn chuffed...

AND I have designed the new website for Bam Bam Creative, just working on finding someone to code it for me! It's taken me months so it'll be great to have it all up and running. I bought my domain names a while ago and it's been a work in progress since.

Basically it'll be awesome, and will split into 2 parts with my design on one part, the crafty stuff on another! I can't wait to have everyone see it.

Keep it crafty x x x

Kraftbomb - May 09 yo!!

Hooray! So I'm lucky enough to be picked again for the May 09 Kraftbomb (it really does make me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside).

If you're in the Auckland area for the last weekend of May, come and check it out:
31st May 09 from 11am to 2pm at the Grey Lynn Community Centre, Richmond Road, Grey Lynn

They are always loads of fun, and you can pick up the raddest crafty wares like Luxford St, Trixie Delicious, Birdspoke, of course the marvelous cupcakes from NZ Cupcake Queen (Redbull cupcake anyone?? yumm!) and now me! There is also homemade lemonade and a playground to occupy the kiddies.

So bring some pocket money and come say hi

Mothers Day...

Is this Sunday! I love Mothers Day, I know some people don't enjoy it because it's commercial and what have you, but who says you can celebrate without spending any money??

Grace, my little girl and I will be baking in the morning on Sunday and making cards, I bought for us little matching 50's style aprons so we'll be making a morning of it. In the afternoon I have my Mum, my Nana, Aunty Sue and her daughters all coming over for afternoon tea. Four generations of women all enjoying Mothers Day together!

I hope that all the other Mums enjoy their Mothers Day too x x x

P.S. When I was looking for a photo for this post, I realised that I NEVER have my photo taken with my daughter! She is almost 4 and this one was when she was about 9 months old, I really must get onto that...

Getting snappy

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

Monday was such a gorgeous day in Auckland, that it was perfect for a spot of product photography as the house was just full of natural light. With my cat Leo giving me a hand, and my favourite tunes on, it's always lots of fun. I'm really loving Alice Russells new album Pot of Gold. I saw her show at Sale St earlier this year, such an awesome gig!!!

I also got a snap of my retro balcony. My house was built in the 1950's and I'm the second person to live in it, so most of the best parts are totally intact. The bathroom is like walking into a time-warp, there is something like 6 different patterns happening in the one space. I put my Trixie Delicious plates there and they go so well! I love our little house.
